To know the only true God, honor and obey Him, and make Him known.
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
“For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
“I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven;
“And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
“Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
“From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force.
Jesus answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.
[ Tares among Wheat ] Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field.
[ The Mustard Seed ] He presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field;
[ The Leaven ] He spoke another parable to them, “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened.”
[ Hidden Treasure ] “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
[ A Costly Pearl ] “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls,
[ A Dragnet ] “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet cast into the sea, and gathering fish of every kind;
And Jesus said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”
[ Rank in the Kingdom ] At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
“Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
“For this reason the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his slaves.
“For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it.”
But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
[ Laborers in the Vineyard ] “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.
“The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son.
[ Eight Woes ] “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
[ Parable of Ten Virgins ] “Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
